Toby Thompson

Toby founded Disqover and has taught software and agile testing across Australia and New Zealand, with an estimated reach of more than 3,000 students. Disqover served around 2,000 clients worldwide before joining SoftEd. This sustained teaching and course-development work gives testers access to practical experience and makes a substantial contribution to testing education.

Toby Thompson is Senior Facilitator and AI Facilitation Specialist at Red Marble AI in Melbourne, having previously worked at SCRYPTID. Early career experience included working as Test Manager and Business Analyst at OP Stockbroking, where fast turnarounds and regular communication provided an early introduction to agile delivery. Subsequent testing training and consultancy for Telstra, NAB, DST International and Sensis laid the foundations for founding Disqover.

Disqover grew to around 2,000 clients worldwide in less than ten years before merging into SoftEd in 2014. Toby joined SoftEd as a trainer, coach and consultant, teaching more than 3,000 students software and agile testing across Australia and New Zealand. Developing course material grounded in practical industry experience brought collaborative ways of working directly into the classroom, with an emphasis on shared learning and informed decision-making.
