Shane Hewson

Qual IT ran graduate testing intakes that brought new people into the profession in New Zealand, and grew into one of the country's substantial assurance practices before its 2022 sale to Planit. Shane contributed to building that capability and pipeline.

Shane Hewson co-founded the Wellington testing and assurance consultancy Qual IT in 2004, developing the business into one of New Zealand's substantial assurance practices. The consultancy expanded to around 250 people, running graduate testing intakes that brought new practitioners into the profession across the country.

Following the sale of Qual IT to Planit in 2022, Shane is now self-employed, having played a key role in building national software testing capability and talent pipelines.
