Scott Hollier

Scott’s co-editorship of two W3C accessibility publications connects documented user needs with practical questions for software quality. Scott Hollier is Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Centre for Accessibility Australia, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to addressing hardship caused by digital access barriers. With a PhD in Internet Studies alongside senior management experience spanning corporate, government and charitable sectors, Scott unites academic research with organisational leadership. An academic role at Edith Cowan University and regular speaking engagements complement this advocacy, informed by personal experience of being legally blind.

Through the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Scott co-edited XR Accessibility User Requirements and Synchronization Accessibility User Requirements. The first documents access needs across extended reality, covering virtual and augmented environments, while the second examines how audio, video, captions, sign language interpretation and descriptions must align. These publications turn user needs into concrete technical considerations, helping designers, developers and testers embed accessibility within immersive interfaces and multimedia applications.
