Sarah contributed to shared accessibility guidance for organisations providing digital goods and services, extending practical expertise into a resource for design, procurement and operation. Support for openly sharing Intopia’s assistive technology research also helps bring users’ experiences into the wider quality conversation. Together, the guidance and research offer teams practical ways to understand access barriers and inform testing and design decisions.

Sarah Pulis is Co-founder and Director at Intopia, working on accessibility implementation and organisational practice to help make digital goods and services usable for people with disability. Based in Greater Melbourne, contributions extend to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s digital-accessibility guidance, connecting practical expertise with expectations for organisations designing, procuring and operating software.

Published in April 2025, the Commission’s Guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services explain how organisations can support equal access and meet obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act. The guidance provides shared recommendations and references to relevant standards. Sarah has also advocated openly sharing Intopia’s Assistive Technology Survey 2025 findings. Drawing on over 200 responses from Australia and New Zealand, the research explores tools such as screen readers and speech recognition alongside barriers encountered online, giving testing and engineering teams real-world evidence to inform accessible digital experiences.
