Sam Minnée

Sam helped create Silverstripe’s open-source content-management system and framework, providing shared foundations for developers building web applications. Reusable security and API-key modules support consistent access management across projects. Continued documentation contributions, including 2026 guidance on configuration and administration-address changes, also help developers understand what needs attention when maintaining and upgrading software.

Sam Minnée is Co-founder and CTO at Ask Astro, CTO at Frankie, and a director at Silverstripe, based in New Zealand’s Kāpiti and Wellington region. Having co-created Silverstripe’s open-source content-management system and framework after starting the company with friends at 17, Sam served as CTO and CEO before joining the board to work with and mentor start-ups. At Ask Astro, the founding team researched early concepts in 2024 and launched the first version in 2025 to help smaller businesses use AI.

In software quality, Sam creates reusable web infrastructure alongside practical developer guidance. This includes Silverstripe modules for access restrictions and API-key management. In 2026, Sam contributed documentation covering the removal of an older page-linking feature and changes to administration web addresses, providing developers with clear instructions to maintain applications reliably as the underlying software evolves.
