Why Ralf Huuck is in the Luvo 100
Ralf led the development of Goanna, turning software-analysis research into a practical tool for developers working with C and C++. Automated examination of code before execution helps teams identify security vulnerabilities early. Current work on engineering intelligence and the information available to AI coding systems extends that focus to how teams understand and improve software development.
About
Ralf Huuck is the founder and CEO of Logilica and NeoHive, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW Sydney. Connecting software analysis, engineering data and AI, Logilica was founded in 2019 to support engineering teams through data analytics and AI research. In 2026, Ralf established NeoHive to focus on context engineering, organising the information and memory that AI systems require when working with large, evolving codebases.
Previously a principal scientist in the Software Systems Group at NICTA/CSIRO, Ralf led the research and development of Goanna. The tool applied model-checking techniques to the static analysis of C and C++ applications to identify security vulnerabilities before execution, culminating in the acquisition of Goanna Software by Synopsys in 2015.
In academia, Ralf serves in the automated reasoning group at UNSW Sydney, exploring how AI coding systems can reason reliably about software and assessing the impact of AI across development. Service on programme committees for software verification, testing and source-code analysis conferences also supports the research community behind automated quality assurance.
