Kelvin Ross

Kelvin built KJR into a long-standing independent software testing and assurance practice serving government and enterprise organisations. Its work helps teams assess reliability, reduce delivery risk and meet requirements in regulated and high-risk settings. Community organising and speaking on assurance and AI governance also bring practical quality concerns to a wider engineering and technology audience.

Kelvin Ross is chief technology officer at Datarwe and the founder and chairman of software testing consultancy KJR. Early work in defence software engineering led to a PhD in safety-critical systems and consulting across defence and transportation. Kelvin launched KJR in 1997, focusing the consultancy on software testing and assurance.

KJR supports government and enterprise programmes across healthcare, public administration, finance, insurance, retail and telecommunications through independent testing, test automation and AI assurance, including assessments of data quality and AI model behaviour. Alongside technical leadership at Datarwe, Kelvin contributes to the technology community as a director of IntelliHQ, the Queensland AI Innovation Hub, and as an organiser of Young Women Leaders in AI and the Gold Coast AI and Machine Learning meetup group, while speaking regularly on software assurance and AI governance.
