Kerr makes platform software easier to implement and test through reusable protocol infrastructure. Linux identifies him as author of its MCTP socket implementation, while his documented Rust and virtual-device work provides an inspectable route to testing firmware communications without waiting for production hardware. These are direct engineering contributions, with collaborators credited at project level.
