Hamish Tedeschi

Hamish built a consultancy around automated testing and behaviour-driven development, giving teams in the UK and Australia access to specialist testing practice. Bringing CukeUp AU to Australia also created a local venue for the BDD community. Together, this consulting and community work supports a practical focus on agreeing expected behaviour and checking that software meets it.

Hamish Tedeschi is the founder and chief executive of Mechanical Rock, based in Perth, Australia. After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a commerce degree, Hamish moved to the UK and founded MagenTys, a consultancy specialising in test automation and behaviour-driven development. Hamish returned to Australia in 2015, and in 2017 sold the UK business interest while rebranding the Australian operation as Mechanical Rock.

Community initiatives include bringing the CukeUp AU conference to Australia, establishing a local forum for behaviour-driven development practitioners. Today, Mechanical Rock works alongside client teams on software products, data platforms and system operations, delivering services across security, reliability and dependable software engineering.
