Greg helped translate accessibility expertise into national guidance for organisations designing and delivering digital goods and services. The Commission’s credit as project chair and lead author recognises a concrete contribution to a shared reference for inclusive software delivery. Public-service accessibility work and disability advocacy also help keep equal access visible in organisational culture and design.

Greg Alchin is Principal Accessibility Specialist at the Department of Customer Service NSW and Service NSW, leading digital accessibility initiatives across public services. Across more than 30 years spanning education, community, commercial and government settings, Greg has helped public agencies build inclusive cultures and improve design, guided by lived experience of disability.

For the Australian Human Rights Commission, Greg served as project chair and lead author among the early contributors to guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services. Published in April 2025, the guidelines help organisations ensure digital products and services are accessible to people with disability while meeting obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act, giving software teams a clear framework for treating equal access as an essential aspect of quality.

International bodies including the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the United Nations World Food Program have also drawn on this accessibility expertise. As master of ceremonies for Let’s Rock NSW, an event themed ‘Rethink disability’, Greg actively brings advocacy into public-sector conversations on inclusion.
