Garth Hamilton

Garth co-founded and built Assurity into a software quality consultancy serving enterprise and government organisations in New Zealand and Australia. Its testing services help delivery teams identify defects, assess risks and make better-informed release decisions. Building a specialist testing business, and securing access to further expertise through Aspire Systems, contributes to sustained software quality capability in the region.

Garth Hamilton is Managing Director and Co-founder of Assurity Consulting, the Wellington-based software quality consultancy established with Darren McTigue in 2005. Bringing more than 30 years of experience in founding, growing and guiding IT services and software businesses, Garth sets the organisation’s strategic direction. Earlier career milestones include serving as Deputy CEO and Wellington General Manager at Fronde, where work included expanding software development capability, alongside leadership positions at Progress Software and QED Software.

Assurity supports enterprise and government organisations with testing and software delivery. Services span test planning, usability and accessibility assessments, test automation, and performance measurement under load. Building quality into delivery from the outset helps client teams identify defects early and avoid rework, reflecting Garth's commitment to advancing delivery practices across New Zealand and abroad.

In February 2026, Assurity was acquired by Aspire Systems, with the leadership team remaining in place. Garth welcomed the investment as a means of securing the business's future for staff and clients, while expanding access to specialist expertise and AI-driven testing tools across New Zealand and Australia.
